Overview of Post-press Process of Picture Book Printing

Processing the printed substrate into a form that people need or a production process that meets performance requirements is called post-press processing. If there is printing, there is post-press processing. Post-press processing is the packaging of printed products. Beautiful packaging has a great effect on improving the artistic effect of top grade, promoting the sales of commodities, and increasing the added value of printed products. Post-press processing is receiving more and more attention.

Post-press processing mainly includes surface decoration, binding and container processing of printed matter.

The surface decoration of the printed matter is appropriately treated on the surface of the printed matter to increase the glossiness, light resistance, heat resistance, water resistance, abrasion resistance and other properties of the printed matter surface, so as to increase the appearance and durability of the printed matter. The decoration processing of printed matter mainly includes glazing, laminating, gold and silver ink printing, bronzing and concave and convex embossing.

The picture book is still a semi-finished product (printed sheet) after printing. Only by further processing these semi-finished products can it become a printed matter that is easy to read and easy to store.

Paper container processing mainly refers to the process of making paper containers or printed products that require special shapes. After printing, die cutting, creasing and box making are also required.
